Short plays/scripts

Catherine in the Car Park

A (very) short film I made as part of an Introduction to iMovie Workshop. I used the Friday Night Girl idea and adapted it to Bolsover Co-op car park!

If you go down the woods
(ghost story)

Dedicated ghost host, Laura Morante, goes deep into Grin Low Woods with local guide, Jack Otter. She’s looking for spooks; he has another agenda entirely. (This was entered into Round 2 of the NYC Midnight short screenplay challenge.)

Boris the Conqueror
(political satire)

The EU Referendum is over and the Brexiteers have won. Boris Johnson is champing at the bit to start his reign as Prime Minister but will David Cameron be so easily displaced?

Family Matters
(family drama)

Family Matters was submitted to the Falling Pennies theatre company for inclusion in their scratch night on the theme of “Second Chance”. They didn’t choose it, in the end, but they were extremely nice about it. It’s the most encouraging rejection I have ever had!

Community Service
(sci-fi)

Community Service was submitted (unsuccessfully) to the Little Pieces of Gold theatre company in response to their call out for pieces on the theme of “Home”.

Friday Night Girl
(horror)

Friday Night Girl was entered into Round 1 of the NYC Midnight short screenplay challenge. It came in the top five of its group (of thirty) and therefore made it successfully into the second round. Recently, I used the idea again to make a short film – see above.

Lady Stardust
(drama)

Lady Stardust was long-listed by Chesil Theatre for inclusion in their biennial 10×10 festival. This year, the plays must be “inspired by the life, lyrics and/or legend of David Bowie.”

People Round Here
(drama)

People Round Here was written in response to a request by a film student for a five minute script. As far as I know, it has not been used.
